Richard "Rick" Diederich

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, Richard (Rick) Diederich went home to be with the Lord at the age of 83. He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Norma Diederich. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathryn Diederich, his two daughters Heather Burnison and her husband Paul, and Danielle Pensa and her husband Joe. Rick is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Elyssa, Katlyn, Karah, Emma and Isaac, as well as his brother Paul. Rick grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and became an IT professional at the infancy of the computer age. Rick worked for years at IBM before starting his own computer consulting firm, traveling the world and fixing complex computer systems issues for some of the top companies around the world. Rick was an avid train and car enthusiast. Rick rebuilt, from boxes, a 1920s Willie's Overland restoring it to its original glory. Rick also enjoyed model trains, working on his own sets retrofitting them with handmade computer components to make them more realistic; Rick also volunteered hundreds of hours on the model train display at the Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA. Rick was known to lend his IT knowledge to his various church homes over the years and various not for profits. Rick was a loving husband and father, as well as a perpetual "pain in the butt"-known to enjoy teasing those around him and always making us smile and laugh. Despite being sick for many years now, Rick maintained that sarcastic and teasing attitude up to the end. He will be missed deeply. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
