My Dearest Hedges Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Daniel's passing! I send my deepest condolences to you all at this unfortunate time! The following is one of the memories I remember of him and hopefully it can bring a smile on your face!
All the kids from Heritage Hills Church were playing kickball for a church activity one afternoon. I was pitching and he was up. I wasn't very good so I had to give it a go a few times before he could kick it, but he was always kind about it. When he finally landed one it came and hit me in the face which I can only describe as a lightening bolt fast and powerful! I remember thinking two things: Ouch & why isn't he running to 1st base? I don't know how red my face was but I do know what kind of person he was because of that moment. He was so kind, caring, and loving and it showed. He could have made it to at least second base but he came straight for me instead apologizing and making sure I was alright!
He was a wonderful person and I am honored to have known him! I wish you all peace and love at this time!
Love,
Sabrina (Yonemoto) Bergsten
P.S.
My family sends their love and condolences too! We would love to hear about how your families have grown as well!

Our lives have been forever changed by Daniel Hedges.
Daniel came to work with us but quickly became a trusted friend. His kindness, faithfulness, dedication and commitment shone through all he did. He served God by loving and serving people.
Daniel loved, walked with us and ran our entire business why we were in China finalizing our adoption of our precious daughter.
He loved his family so much. He talked so much about his family. He was an amazing uncle, loving brother and faithful son. He came alive the most when he talked about being an uncle. He always wanted his mom to be taken care of when his dad was away. He supported his family so faithfully and adopted our family as his own. We would not have been able to adopt our daughter if it would have not been for Daniel. We had to be gone for 17 days plus prep and post trip time away.
Daniels kindness could be felt by anyone. He was an amazing golfer. He truly lived out the good news of the Gospel. Daniel loved like Jesus. We are forever changed and are so thankful for him! Daniel made life better, sweeter, easier and fun everywhere he went. He will be dearly missed. To his amazing family. Jesus went to prepare a place for you, but no doubt that's what Daniel is doing now. Surely, there are heavenly golf courses and he is scoping them out. Our hearts hurt with yours. Our hope is in the God who saves! We love you!
Our love, prayers and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

In working with Daniel at Atrisco Elementary, I came to know him as a caring individual and a total professional. My heart aches at the loss of a truly fine human being. He was a perfectionist in his work and wanted everything to be just right. I got an email in early December from Daniel and I saw that he had written it at about 3:00 AM He was worried about some paperwork and I reassured him that all mistakes can be fixed, but he wanted to make sure that it was done right and in good time. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Even though I only new him for a short time, I knew immediately that he was a wonderful, caring person and a man of integrity.

Our prayers go out to Daniel's family. I remember when he was student teaching at Grant MS, a very fine young man. We have the calm assurance of knowing he is in the arms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
