David Kennedy Obituary

David James Kennedy

Our earth angel, David James Kennedy was born with Down Syndrome in Chicago, Illinois April 26, 1963 to Joan Ann and James Edward Kennedy.

For 61 years, David led a full life. Special education trailblazer in Albuquerque (Graduated from Manzano High School), Boy Scout in troop 436 who rose to Eagle Scout, Special Olympics Athlete, and traveler. He was so proud of his 28 years working for McDonald's in Santa Fe and Clovis. David was also very active in his church and loved the Lord Jesus. David was the sweetest and kindest person anyone ever knew.

In everything he did, he showed others what love was. David preferred hugs to handshakes for everyone. He was especially fond of the family dogs. David enjoyed bowling, going to movies or really anywhere with family, and eating Reese's peanut butter cups, and making sure he got all three meals every day (even if they were scrunched together). David's focus was on serving others in whatever way he could.

David is survived by his parents; sisters and brother-in-law Tracy Kennedy, and Nancy and Jim McDowell, nieces Jessica Henry (Ken), Alissa Cramer, great nephews Ryland and Tatum Cramer, great nieces Lily and Kennedy Henry, and his Aunt Sandra Kamm.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:30, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church 7701 Candelaria Rd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87110.
