Martin Reisfeld Obituary

Reisfeld, Martin

Martin Reisfeld, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, died on October 7, 2015, after a long illness.

Mr. Reisfeld was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended the City College of New York, the University of Maryland, and Pennsylvania State University. He married his beautiful wife, Sherry, in 1957 and they moved to Los Alamos, where he served as a chemist for the laboratory. They retired in 1996 and moved to Albuquerque, where Martin worked briefly as a consultant at Sandia National Labs, and then volunteered as a docent at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. Martin had a deep and abiding interest in learning and reading, and after retirement took a broad variety of online college courses until shortly before his death.

He will be remembered for his intelligence, wit, and generosity, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Reisfeld was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry.

He is survived by three children, Belinda (Randy), Brad (Nickie), and Melanie; four grandchildren, Lauren, Jake, Ben, and Erin Rose; and dear family friends Kali Maestas and her family.

I remember being with you way back when my family visited yours in Brooklyn. You impressed me with your 'smarts'. Rest in peace.
