Serena Anderson Obituary

Serena Anderson

Sad to announce that Serena Anderson died Saturday, April 27, 2024, from throat cancer that had spread to her lungs. She was 76. Born in Joplin, Missouri, she grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where her mother tought School, and in New York City and Newark, New Jersey, where her father practiced medicine. Serena attended Parsons School of Design in New York. Then she was in the fashion business in Europe, first modeling and then as an agent of an Italian fashion company.

She moved to Albuquerque in 1968 and it has been her home since then. Serena is survived by her husband Jeff Dempsey and her brother Will A. Anderson M.D., from a suburb near Seattle. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. Serena has so many friends; and all of them are invited to a memorial ceremony to be held this Sunday, June 30, 2024, at noon at Lescombes Winery and Bistro, 901 Rio Grande Blvd. NW.

Her passing is a loss to us all.

We love and miss our Auntie. She was a wonderful person. Her stories were as incredible as the life she lived. She was a generous person and made those around her feel valued and loved. Her absence is felt and she will be missed.
