I am so very sorry to read this. I worked for him 36 years ago and then worked with him in surgery at OLOL. He was without a doubt the best eye dr I have ever worked with. In fact, I was looking up his office # to get a recommendation. Each of you are in my prayers.

What a wonderful doctor he was, one of best retina eye surgeons in the south and probably one of top 5 in the country, he operated on my dad 36 yrs ago and he was so young then to be so talented in his work, and operated on me back in 2017 with my retina detachment, found out he had passed when I went for my check up yesterday.

I’m so sorry to hear this just today, I will truly miss him , I’ve know him since the mid 80’s when i star treating his prosthetic eye patients. I will miss seeing him at our local conference. Prayers are with his family. A wonderful man.

I´m sorry to hear of this and wish I could of seen him before his retirement. I was one of his patient in Alexandria, La and he has done so much and he knew his stuff. The last time I saw him he gave me a shot in my eye, two weeks later I found out he had retired. To his family, friends and staff sorry for y´all loss of a great man! Thank you, Dr Breaud! I will always remember you!

Extending condolences to Dr. Stephen Breaud´s family, staff, patients, and friends. He has been my retina doctor for 33 years and an angel to me. I have diabetic retinopathy, and Dr. Breaud restored and preserved my vision with two major surgeries and numerous laser surgeries and check-ups through the years. I always totally trusted him and his expertise. Also, he did many kind things for me just because. Our loss of him has hit me hard. Wish I could have visited with him before God called him home. Stephen will always be in my heart. He was truly "special" and not just my doctor.

Baton Rouge has lost one of the best retina doctors! I have been one of his very first patients, over 45 years, and trusted his skill and judgment implicitly. He was truly a dedicated professional who cared deeply for all his patients. It was always obvious that he stayed abreast of the constant evolving research in his field. He saved my vision for these many years! I will miss taking my homegrown grapefruit to him! Condolences to his family and his staff who loved and respected him.

For over 20 years, Dr. Stephen Breaud served as one of our most valued colleagues. It was an honor to partner with Steve to deliver care to our patients in Central Louisiana and beyond. So many of our shared patients owe their sight to him.

Dr Breaud did 3 retinal surgeries on me starting in 2017. He was very skilled and just an all around good man. You felt that he really cared. We lost a wonderful man....

Dr Breaud was one of a kind. He cared about his patients and was well known for his skills. He was respectful of those that assisted him in the OR. He will be greatly missed , especially all the nurses and CRNAs that worked closely beside him. RIP Dr. Breaud.

Heaven must've needed an eye surgeon. I had a bad injury several years ago. I had a detached, and torn retina, and Dr Steven Breaud brought the light back into the darkness, and made it to where I could see out my eye again. He was a good man, that helped a lot of people. Prayers to his family.

Our condolences to Dr Breaud´s family. We are truly sorry for your loss. Dr Breaud was always concerned about the results of his surgeries n his patients. He was my Dr n Surgeon for 25 years. He performed 4 major surgeries on my eyes n all were very successful. He and the Lord is the reason I can see today. I always liked his humor n each time I saw him, he would say, do you have another eye I can operate on? I replied, not at this time but I do keep your number handy! I will truly miss him.

Baton Rouge has lost a skilled and talented retina doctor. He treated me for the last 8-10 years and I came to like him very much.I always felt reassured and more than once I left with a chuckle.
I am unable to attend his services but will make a donation to St Jude in his name. My prayers are offered up for his family and friends in their loss and grief.
