Greg Philip Guidry

Following a courageous battle with cancer, Greg Philip Guidry passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, in Lafayette at the home of his sister and brother-in-law. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette. Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, July 31 from 10:00 am until the time of service. Linton Broussard, Care Pastor of The Bayou Church in Lafayette, will officiate. Greg was outgoing and gregarious like his dad. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the patriotic Freedom Forum group in Lafayette. In his leisure time, Greg liked to play disc golf and watch Jeopardy on television. He was a faithful member of The Bayou Church in Lafayette. Greg is survived by his mother, Bette Atkins Guidry, of Lafayette; four sisters, Mona Izzo and her husband Danny, of Lafayette, Carla Guidry, of Clearwater, FL, Joy Kennamer, of Oklahoma City, OK and Jill Guidry and her husband Jeff Barnard, of Santa Rosa, CA; one brother, Brent Guidry, of Lafayette and a half-sister, Carmen Perrin, of Lafayette. He is also survived by five nieces, Megan, Jill and her husband Jarod, Sara, Alyssa and Simone; three nephews, Sam, Jeff and Jackson; a great-niece, Marren, numerous other relatives and his "adopted" brother, Grady Lynn. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton F. Guidry, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Fernand and Elia LeBlanc Guidry; his maternal grandparents, Helen McCluskey Blank and Robert Emmet Atkins; his step-grandfather, John Ogden Blank, Sr.; one brother, Milton F. Guidry, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Craig Kennamer and his half-brother, Al Guidry.
