Robert Todd Cameron, 56, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 3, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 1:00 pm in La Chapelle de Martin Castille in Lafayette. The family requests visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Downtown Location on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited Thursday morning at 11:30 am led by Cliff Hebert. Reverend Kyle White will officiate the service. Todd was born December 11, 1967, at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, and raised in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana. Todd attended L.J. Alleman and was a 1985 graduate of Lafayette High School where he ran track and played defensive back for the Lions. He graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1991, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha and excelled in mathematics and crushing pepperoni pizzas. He loved spending time outdoors, especially at the family camp in Toledo Bend; he was most relaxed and happy chasing bass and enjoying a day on the water. Todd was also enthusiastic about disc golf and would frequent courses throughout Alexandria and the surrounding area. In addition to being a Ragin' Cajun, Todd also had a deep love for LSU athletics and enjoyed spending Saturdays in the fall rooting on the Tigers. He will always be remembered for his sweet disposition, great smile, and rapier wit. Todd had resided for the last 25 years in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he was employed with Piccadilly and Academy. He was preceded in death by his father, Julian (Jerry) Rutherford Cameron, Jr., of Brookhaven, Mississippi; maternal grandparents, Eleanor Perkins Cole and Robert L. Cole of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and paternal grandparents, Kathryn Slocumb Cameron and Julian R. Cameron, Sr., of Brookhaven, Mississippi. Todd is survived by his mother, Robin Cole Roy and stepfather, Dr. David E. Roy of Lafayette, Louisiana; three sisters, Kelly Cameron Ritter (Greg) of Rayne, Louisiana, Ragan Roy Garcia (Chris) of Dallas, Texas, and Robin Linda Thai Hayes (Kevin) of Lafayette, Louisiana; one brother, Scott Cameron (Chrissy) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two nieces, Taylor Marine (Austin) of Midland, Texas, and Makenzie Weber (Rowdy) of Wittmann, Arizona; and two great-nieces, Ivie and Gracie Marine of Midland, Texas. Todd also leaves numerous friends and extended family who will miss him dearly and cherish his memory and friendship. Pallbearers will be Scott Cameron, Dr. David E. Roy, Greg Ritter, Christopher Garcia, Kevin Hayes, and Clara White. The family is incredibly grateful to the doctors and nursing staff of the west tower, eighth floor at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital and Calcutta House of Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care in treating Todd with dignity and grace.
