Diane Noreen Obituary

Diane Noreen passed on to heaven on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. Diane was born in Idaho on Aug. 30, 1955. She grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the third born of a family of nine children of LaVerl and Bernice Noreen. Diane is survived by her parents, LaVerl and Bernice Noreen of Rigby, Idaho; and her siblings, Steve Noreen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Gary Noreen of Menan, Idaho, RaNae Noreen Moore of Pocatello, Idaho, Larale Noreen Baldwin of Spokane, Wash., Ron Noreen of Rigby, Idaho, Leah Noreen Girard of Boise, Idaho, and Janet Noreen Carlson of Rigby, Idaho; and her fiance and love of her life, Harris Crowley Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska. Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Rex Noreen; and her husband, Van Wedemeyer. Diane was always independent and very adventurous. She left Idaho after graduating high school, and moved to Boston in 1972, when she was only 17 years old. Very typical to the way she lived her life, never afraid to take on a new challenge. She went from Boston to work in New Orleans, La., before returning to Idaho for a short period before deciding to venture out again, this time in Hawaii, where she established her boat cleaning business. Alaska was the only state out of the 50 she had not visited or lived in and that fact eventually brought her to Alaska, which she fell in love with and became a lifelong resident. Diane eventually wore many hats, selling insurance, quality control manager at Charley's Produce, industrial electrician, plumber, gold miner, commercial fisherwoman, Kangen water distributor and, most recently, establishing Nordcrown LLC. Diane lived life to the fullest each and every day. She touched the lives of many individuals across this great nation of ours, which she loved dearly, and everyone she touched ended up the better for it. She will be sorely missed by many. Her ashes, as per her wishes, will be spread into Cook Inlet off Anchor Point at a later date. Anyone interested in attending please email Harris Crowley at [email protected] or call 907-563-2216.

Diane was my neighbor and became a good friend. We shared many good times together. Diane had a great sense of humor and could always people laugh. I'm shocked and deeply saddened by her passing away. May God bless Diane's loved ones and bring them peace.

This is heartbreaking. I met my friend Diane in the early 2000's when she worked at Charlie's Produce downstairs from my office. She was a happy, energetic person who brightened this tired single mom's day. She listened to my stories of my dating trials, teenager's issues, and work problems. She would always be compassionate, listen carefully and then say something to make me laugh and encourage me to continue on with my life in a positive manner. She would tell me her own stories of which she had many. I am amazed at how much she had been through in her short life, but she managed to stay upbeat, positive, and happy. We attended many Anchorage Chamber of Commerce After Hours events together as Diane was an Entrepreneur with many talents and ideas to share. I don't know anyone else like her. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She is leaving a hole in my life. My heart and prayers are with her family who she talked about so much.

NOT KNOWING HER VERY LONG, I ONLY KNOW THAT SHE WAS A HARD WORKER AND VERY LIKABLE PERSON. I GAVE HER HUGS WHEN I SAW HER BUT HAVE NOT SEEN HER SINCE SHE MARRIED. DORRIS R.
