Martine Turner Obituary

Long time Alaska resident Mr. Martine Angelo Turner, 37, passed away at home on Friday, May 1, 2015, in Big Lake, Alaska. Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Ave. in Anchorage, Alaska, and on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 11 a.m., at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E Herning Ave. in Wasilla, Alaska. Father Scott, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla, will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Angel Peak Cemetery in Wasilla. Martine was born on June 20, 1977, in Anchorage, Alaska. Martine has had various jobs over the years. His number one job was a father to his children. Martine attended the Holy Family Cathedral. The Big Daddy of the valley opened his heart and arms to anyone that needed him. He enjoyed camping, BBQs, bonfires, shooting guns at the range, exploring the outdoors, spending time with family and friends and creating memories with his children. Martine was a genuine man with big heart that helped many people. Material things meant very little to him, and family meant everything. Martine had a great love for all children, especially his own. His plans always included his children. This summer he planned to spend time traveling and camping in his motor home with his pregnant fiancee and their five children. He loved exploring the great outdoors. Martine lived in California and won a trip to London. Martine had many dreams of traveling with his children. He will be missed by many, but his name will live on through memories and the legacy of his children. Martine is survived by his children, Martine Jr., Carolyn, Catherine and Shelby; mother, Dorothy; fiancee, Shaunna and her two children; brother, Fred; three sisters, Elora, Shannon and Heather; aunt, Cathy; uncle, Harry; cousin, John; and aunt, Angie. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Audrey; grandfather, George; grandfather, Angelo; grandmother, Eugena; father, Robert; and nephew, Matthew. Donations may be offered in Martine's Name to: 14154 Jojoba Apt.-A, Big Lake, AK 99652. Arrangements were entrusted by Valley Funeral Home, Wasilla Chapel.

I met you when I was just a kid :) and here we are playing adults ... No matter the struggles you were always someone I looked up to. Your strength and determination alone trumped everyone I know. You never know what you got till its gone. Or so they say. But we all knew. You were a diamond in the rough for lack of better words. I hope you have finally found that peace you have been striving for for so long. Rip

We were like four years old when we first became friends we were both the youngest of our clans. Only couple houses apart with all our older sibblings friends as well as moms, thus began our story. From the first memory I have all I can see is his big smile, and to be honest that is the last memory I have is a big smile and hug as we said our final farewell, somrhing I will never forget. Can honestly say I know for a fact nobody reading this has not been impacted by having known that man. He would selfless give you the shirt off his back, I've seen him do it more than once. Spend the only twelve dollars he had to put in gas to go pick up someone he called his friend at whatever time at whatever place with no thought of being paid back. He was a true saint, he loved all of you, even if you never met, always had at least 6 children hanging off him. For a lot of us he was the glue that kept us together, at the least introduced us. A true child of god. Martine you have always have been and will be my brother, even though I'm your uncle. MY BROTHER this I swear to you......now you have left all of us most important are the three angles you left without their daddy... I will do everything I possibly can to make sure they want for nothing(except the time and lessons you had left to Give them) you were an awsome man and a good father, son, uncle, brother and mother. You will always be loved and missed. Your brother TRAVIS

I still cannot believe I am not going to see you again. My heart is trully broke and will never quite be the same without you being in our lives. I am going to miss hearing your loud trucks pulling in and having all your smiling faces come piling out, I am going to miss running into you almost every time I leave my house, I am going to miss your contagious laugh and how you never lost the lil kid inside of you. You are an amazing father and friend and that will live on in all the lives you touched, including mine. Love you Martine and will miss you always.
