Terri Block Obituary

Terri Lyn (Farmer) Block, age 58, passed away after a nine-month struggle with acute leukemia on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer, Alaska, with her loving family at her side.
Terri was born on May 11, 1958, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Carlos S. and Rosella (Walker) Farmer.
On May 14, 1982, she married Dale Leslie Block and they stayed happily together for 35 years. They raised five children together: Sarah, Sadie, Matthew, Nathan and Garreth, who they loved and cared for dearly.
Terri was diagnosed with leukemia in September of last year. Terri never lost hope and stayed positive throughout her entire treatment, as she battled with leukemia.
She was well known for her generosity and passionate care for loved-ones and children. She was full of life and ambition, and always encouraged others to pursue their dreams. When life was at its hardest, she continued to coordinate care for her disabled daughter, Sarah, the best anyone could.
She also helped with many charities, one of which is "The Forget-Me-Not Mission," advocating for those affected by impaired drivers, such as her daughter, Sarah.
Terri cherished her family most in this world and promoted her love by sharing childhood stories, framing family photos throughout her house and cooking her newest recipe for her loved-ones.
She enjoyed painting ceramics, making photo albums and taking care of her dachshund, Jazzy, and cat, Skeeter.
Terri was comforted and surrounded by her family until the end of her life. She requested that no formal funeral service be held, but wanted her family to have a picnic in her memory, after spreading her ashes in Boulder Creek Valley, north of Palmer. This was a very special and beautiful place for her family, where they visited, picked blueberries and hunted caribou in the fall for many years.
She loved cooking for her family and would be honored for friends and family to participate in the picnic, where we gather to eat food, share stories and celebrate her life.
She wanted to be remembered by: "I loved my husband and children more than anything in my life. I believed in God and life in Heaven."
She will be greatly missed beyond belief by so many whose lives she brightened greatly. Terri will always be in our hearts and her legacy will live on inside of her beloved children. May she forever rest in peace, We Love You!

To the Toci and Block families, I'm sorry for your loss. Personally, I think she was too young to go and was still needed here, but God chooses. I got to know Terri when she was Admin staff at the Trooper post in Palmer. She was always a joy; pleasant and helpful.
