Theodore Morgan Obituary

Longtime Alaska resident Theodore "Ted" Steely Morgan, 51, died Dec. 5, 2010, at his home, in Anchorage, of an apparent heart attack..

Visitation and a memorial service were held Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. The Rev. Dave Olson of Anchorage Church of Christ, 2700 DeBarr Road, officiated at his service. He was cremated, and his remains will be kept at the family cabin on the Copper River, where he enjoyed being in the outdoors.

Ted was born Aug. 15, 1959, in Pocatello, Idaho, the only child of Theodore Ernest Morgan and Freda Carol Morgan (Nordquist).

Ted moved to Alaska when he was 9 months old. Along with his parents, they lived on a homestead 14 miles north of Kenai. The family moved to Anchorage in the early 1960s, and he received his education in the Anchorage School District. Ted was a graduate of Service High School.

Ted worked for Ron's General Construction, Inc., and most recently, the Municipality of Anchorage. Ted was a construction worker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge after four years of service.

Ted is survived by his beloved 8-year-old daughter, Lisa Marie Morgan; his mother, Freda C. Nordquist; his stepfather, Ronald Nordquist; his stepsisters, Jessica, and Monica Nordquist; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Ted will be dearly missed, as he brought much joy to his family, friends, and especially Lisa Marie, his daughter.
