William Ferguson Obituary

William C. Ferguson, "Fergie," of 80 years young (29 at heart), passed away peacefully at Providence Transitional Care on Dec. 11, 2017. With the will of remembrance for family and friends, he only requested his granddaughters assistance in his final months. He was a well loved man, with unique character and an exceptional laugh that we all cherished. He reigned from Massachusetts (and he wouldn't let you forget it). Then he started his high spirited lifestyle in the Air Force, which was short-lived, but it began his Alaskan adventure. He was always an active member of the Anchorage community and prided his small business, Data Processing Supplies. This made his placement permanent in the heart of Anchorage, Alaska.
Knowing this legendary man and his disregard for any attention whatsoever, we will be holding an honorary celebration for his friends, family and peers. It will be held at The Buckaroo Club on Jan. 22, 2018, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Let us celebrate the wondrous life he lived, and the impact he had upon this town and onward. We will miss this distinguished man, but we will not grieve this loss.
Thank you for all your thoughts, love and prayers.
Let us cheers to Fergie!

I remember Fergie during his Fur Rondy days , always a smile on his face and a hearty laugh for anything being said. He was a great leader by example and he will be missed around town. What ever happened to his beloved orange corvette! Our condolences to the Ferguson family.

Fergie's picture shows a man with a wonderful smile. His obvious joy for life is a beautiful thing to remember. I hope that all of the friends and family of Fergie may continue to stay hopeful, strong, and steadfast, as God "heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)

Bill was a long time Rotarian who served selflessly and did absolutely shy away from recognition. He was a quiet, shy but very sweet man.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Fergie lived a life full of love. May your family find reassurance from the loving promise of seeing him again soon (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14). Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

I was Fergie's sister-in-law for a time. The man described in the obituary is the Fergie I knew. I cannot recall an image of Fergie in which he isn't wearing a smile.

Fergie never discussed his inner feelings with me, but in that sense the trait made him a good listener.

My sincerest condolences to the Ferguson family during this difficult time. Mr.Ferguson seemed to be a very much loved and happy person. May the happy memories you have treasured up with your loved one, bring you comfort & sustain you.
