Gabriel Mayr Obituary
Mayr, born November 1, 1938 in New York, NY, was one of eight children born to Julius and Margaret Mayr. Raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Gabe later returned after serving in the Navy to attend New Mexico StateUniversity and earn a degree in Civil Engineering.
Gabe had a true passion for the advancement of solar energy. He was an active member of the El Paso and New Mexico Solar Energy Associations. He spent the last several years living in Tularosa, New Mexico where he was an active member in the community as well as a devout patron and choir member of St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church.
Gabe is survived by his daughter Michelle Mayr O'Neill of Houston and sons, Brent Mayr of Houston and Michael A. Mayr of Boston. Other survivors include siblings Imogene Mayr, Chuck Mayr, Michael Mayr and Frances Samet.
A Rosary Service will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 6 p.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. also at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church located at 303 Encino Street, Tularosa.
Flowers and donations may be sent directly to the church.

Dear Michelle, Michael and Brent-
How greatly saddened I was to learn of the loss of your precious father. When someone you love dies, it leaves an emtpy spot in your hearts which could never be filled by any other person. Soon, in a new world of god's making, all pain, suffering and sickness will be gone forever. Until then, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I WAS GABES INSURANCE LADY AND MY DAUGHTER WAS ONE OF HIS STUDENTS AT CATACHISM YEARS AGO HERE IN TULAROSA.
I LOVED VISITING WITH GABE - HE WAS A MAN OF WORDS AND WISDOM. HE ALWAYS BRAGGED ABOUT HIS CHILDREN TOO! GOD BLESS THE FAMILY. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE GABE. KATHI AND BRANDI
