Kathleen June Smith Tinguely

On March 25th, 2018, Kathleen June Smith Tinguely passed away in her home in Mountain Park, NM surrounded by adoring love and the greatest care. She was 91 years young and passed away still giving individual love to her family.

As a child, June was known for her free spirit and love of adventure. She married the love of her life, Roy Tinguely, at the age of 21, and then, with just a year or so apart, started having their 15 children. She always said she wanted many children, and she never had more offspring than she could love deeply. History fascinated June, and she was a voracious reader. She fulfilled her life-long dream of visiting the historical sites of Greece in the Spring of 2015. June always had a flair for fashion and knew how to dress stylishly even on a shoestring budget. She worked tirelessly for the Republican Party in Otero County, and knew politics inside and out. Pan American, Bridge and her "bridge ladies" were a highlight of her life outside of her family, along with teaching many students of the Adult Literacy Program. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Mission Church for 60 years. Most of all, June will be remembered for her generous soul and her tireless giving. Lastly, her sparkling blue eyes were so full of life that they will never be forgotten.

June is survived by 12 of her children (spouses) including David (Martha) Tinguely, Mary (Doug) Gladden, Robert (Clare) Tinguely, Tereasa (Ian) Hughes, Patricia (Arnold) Viramontes, Melinda (Richard) Antram, Barbara (Michael) Ferda, Jennifer (Dana) Hamel, John (Ida) Tinguely, Elizabeth Tinguely, Daniel (Sarah) Tinguely, Laura (Patrick) Hady, 46 Grandchildren and 60 plus Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, two sons, Roy Michael and William, and a baby daughter, Martha. Many believed her to be a living Saint, and thus have lost one of their brightest Stars.

There will be a family memorial service with Mass for June at Sacred Heart Mission in Cloudcroft on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 9 am.
The Tinguely family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services. Cremation will take place at PCS.
