David Taylor

William David Taylor, age 80 passed away peacefully on March 22 of Pneumonia complications at Harborview Tifton Skilled Nursing Facility in the wonderful care of their Hospice team after bravely battling cancer for many years. David was born in Albany, GA to Charles "CW" and Alice Taylor on March 12, 1946. He earned a Business degree from University of Georgia and was proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Navigation and Bombing Trainer Specialist before working for over 25 years for Dekalb county making a successful career as a tax appraiser assisting small businesses. He set roots in Decatur GA, building a family and life there for 30 years that he was extremely proud of. He was active in many youth sporting events, school concerts, marching band performances, essentially every single thing he could do to support his son Daniel.

He made countless friends through his work and his many hobbies including horseback riding, fishing, golf, fantasy baseball, target shooting, and became a master of caning furniture; and of course cheering for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. David's sense of humor, story telling and quick wit, along with his endless endeavor to help all those around him will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Daniela M. Taylor, his son Daniel W. Taylor (Victoria Meliopoulos), Sister Linda Windham, and brother Mike Taylor (Don Brown) and his true love, his horse Tico.

A memorial will be held at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home in Albany, GA, officiated by Rev. Ronnie Kinsaul with prayers by Rev. Caroline Leach on April 3rd. Services will be at 1PM with visitation starting at Noon.
