ALMA A. GONZALEZ Alma A Gonzalez entered eternal rest January 28, 2024 at home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born July 16, 1942 in Palito Blanco, Texas to Jesus Aguirre and Claudina Charles. She was a devoted wife of 37 years to her late husband, Pablo A Gonzalez. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Her unconditional love, faith, and beautiful smile were contagious to everyone she met. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed entertaining, listening to music, especially her favorite Tejano singer, Little Joe, being outdoors, talking on the phone, dancing and cooking in the kitchen. Alma had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Aguirre; mother, Claudina Charles Guajardo; husband, Pablo A. Gonzalez; son, Pablo J. Gonzalez; great-granddaughter, Remi Lane Chavarria; siblings, Elva Perez (Frank), Claudina Garcia, and Rolando "Randy" Garcia. Alma is survived by her children, Priscilla Gonzalez Vera (Jose) of Alice, Laura Gonzalez Chavarria (Rolando Jr.) of Orange Grove, and Dolores Gaza (Ruben) of Alice; daughter-in-law, Crystal Gonzalez of San Diego; siblings, Leocadia Guajardo (Bartolo) of Green Acres, Daniel Montalvo (Elena) of Alice, Gregorio Montalvo Jr. (Donna) of Minnesota, Sarah Castillo (Jerry) of Los Fresnos, and Nieves Cowley (John) of Midlothian, Texas; ten grandchildren, Rolando Zachary Chavarria (Lorena), Lindsey Chavarria Acero (Albert), Tiffany Rose Chavarria, Benjamin Gaza, Celeste Vera (Omar Carrillo), Ceasar Gaza, Samuel Gaza, Aric Gonzalez, Marcus Antonio Vera, and Roman Gonzalez; four great-grandchildren, Zayn Acero, Lorenzo Adolfo Acero, Ella Rae Acero, and Rolando Zachary Chavarria II; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel from 5 till 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Joesph Catholic Church. Services to conclude after the mass. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Rolando Garcia, Jesus De La Rosa, Rolando Zachary Chavarria, Andy Villarreal, Ruben C. Lopez, and Ceasar Gaza. Funeral arrangements entrusted with ROSAS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
