Norma Canales Obituary

Norma Jean Garza Canales was not only a sister but a daughter aunt and friend. She lived life to the fullest. Norma was born in Alice to Felix and Mary Garza blessed with a daughter my parents were extremely proud for Norma was their first born.

As Norma grew into a lovely young woman, she dedicated herself to her studies. Norma graduated from Alice High School and pursued her education in nursing where she attended Bee County College and graduated with a nursing degree. Norma worked for P&S Hospital in the pediatric unit as a charge nurse. She then went to work for Dr. Patel as a head nurse.

Our sister will live in our hearts forever. We will miss her dearly. Fly our angel for you were granted a pair of white wings our Christmas angel. Norma is preceded in death by her parents Felix and Maria Elena Garza. Survivors include her Companion Bruce Copeland of Alice, Texas, her four sisters Arlene G. Garcia, Letty (Augie Alaniz) Stephens of Annaville, Texas, Beatrice (Manuel Gonzalez) Jackson of Alice, Texas and Mary Elene Garza of Alice, Texas.

Other survivors include six nieces Heather Ann Stephens, Lace Juliette Garcia, Meagan Angelic Carrizalez, Chloe Michael Garza, Faith Madison Jackson, Nonami Chantel Garza, two nephews Jimmy Wayne Jackson Jr. Austin Alaniz and Her Ex- husband Noe Javier Canales of Alice, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday October 21, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday October 22, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery.
