PETRA MENDOZA Petra Guerra Mendoza passed away at 62 years old on October 9, 2023, at a hospital in Corpus Christi. She was born April 27, 1961, in Alice Texas to Juan Sr. and Esperanza Ortiz Guerra Petra spent her retirement years surrounded by her loving family and friends. She enjoyed sharing stories and laughs while sitting outside in the relaxing Tecolote breeze. She will always be remembered for her free spirit, straight forward attitude, and love for her grandbabies. Petra is preceded in death by her parents Juan & Rafela Guerra, Sr. and Adan & Esperanza Martinez, sister, Luz Maria Guerra, brothers Mario Guerra, Juan Guerra, Jr. Petra is survived by her loving ex-husband Francisco Mendoza, Sr., stepsister Lynn Cuevas, son John & Tania Guerra and their children Milton, Liana, Michael Adan, and Matthew, daughter Maritza & Victor "Chuy" Santana and their children Jesus, Victor, Mercedes, and Francisco, stepdaughter Veronica Mendoza & Mario and children Juan Jr., Andrew, and Kristine, stepson Xavier & Elizabeth, stepson Frankie Mendoza, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held in Alice, Texas. The viewing will be at Rosas Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, at 5pm followed by the Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday October 14, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church after funeral mass. Pallbearers will be John Guerra, Victor "Chuy" Santana, Jason Guerra, Fel Guerra, Jesus Santana, and Juan Contreras. Rosas Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
