Clayton Hubbart Obituary

Pete Hubbart passed on October 11, 2017. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday October 14, 2017 From 10 am-8 pm with family present from 6 pm-8 pm at Rector Funeral Home. Pete was born on February 16, 1936 to Lloyd and Lucille Hubbart and grew up in Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High. He married Linda Perry on June 4th, 1955, and they were blessed with three sons, Tim, Russ and Mike. Pete loved sports, coaching, teaching, time fishing in the mountains and the Old West. Most of all he loved his family. He attended West Texas State University, Wayland Baptist University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in pursuit of degrees that allowed him to work with students in many areas of Texas, including Silverton, Vega, Canadian, Friona, Perryton, Guthrie and Amarillo. He was always a favorite of students who loved his many stories - and oh the stories he could tell!

Pete is a Believer, he and Linda attended Arden Road Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Wanda Pace and a brother, Lloyd Ray Hubbart.

He is survived by his wife Linda, their sons and their wives, Tim and Linda, Russ and Tammy, and Mike and Angela, and a sister, Merlene Winter. He adored his six grandchildren, Amanda, Tamra, Case, Todd, Myndi and Justin, and rejoiced with each of them as they came to know Christ. His fourteen great-grandchildren transformed him from a grown man into a boy in their presence.

He will be dearly missed. www.rectorfuneralhome.com

Dear Hubbart Family, Linda and I are saddened to hear of your loss. Pete and I shared a special alley friendship as neighbors prior to our move last year. May GOD ease your separation. Our friendship included sharing the blessings of knowing CHRIST as SAVIOR and LORD.
