Joseph Smith Obituary

Joseph Smith, Jr. 1957 - 2025 Joseph Smith, Jr., affectionately known as Joe, Jr., peacefully passed away on June 6, 2025, at the age of 67; surrounded by his devoted wife, Adrienne. Born in New Orleans, LA on August 4, 1957, to the union of Joseph, Sr. and Cora Lee Victor Smith. He was proud native of Montz, LA. Joe, Jr. graduated from Destrehan High School in 1976. After graduation, he began his career as a skilled welder, boilermaker, and carpenter. Joe, Jr., possessed the ability to light up any room he entered. He will forever be remembered for his quick-witted humor, blunt honesty, caring and loving spirit, and numerous catchphrases. Later in life, Joe, Jr., was baptized by Reverand Henry Leboyd, Sr., eternally giving his life to Christ. Joe, Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memories to his loving wife of 48 years, Adrienne LeBeaux Smith, two sons, Joseph (LaTecia) Smith, III of Prairieville, LA and Traun Sr (Lyoshi) Smith, of Montz, LA, two daughters, Teyon (Dwayne) Rogers and Ariane (Elgin) Bailey, of LaPlace, LA; eleven grandchildren: Emiya, Traun Jr, Chaz, Cohann, Tatianna, Ean, Cade, Taryn, Ever, Dru and East; and a his furr baby, Cotton. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Debra (Ronald) Pate and Ramona (George) Cooper; mother-in-law, Rosalie Armstrong and father-in-law Earl Henry(Jesselyn) Williams; five sisters-in-laws, Carliss (Don) Poole, Shelley LeBeaux, Terrell Warren, Chandra (Flemming) Ragas, and Sandra Williams- Jones; five brothers-in-laws, Dwayne(Yvonne) LeBeaux, Eric (Jewanna) LeBeaux, Andrew (Shenell) LeBeaux Jr; Tremayne LeBeaux Sr. ;Lloyd Wesley; his favorite goddaughters Kendra Pate and Tenya Smith; his buddies Oliver Augillard, Wade Mashia, Vincent Brumfield, Terry Gross, 'BooMan', Jerrel Turner, Blane Mason; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joe, Jr. is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, Sr. and Cora Lee Smith; his brother, Kevin 'KevBoo' Smith, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Paul, Sr. and Celia Victor; his paternal grandparents, Sidney and Octavia Smith; grandson, T. Smith; his godparents, Helen Etienne and Guy Stewart; his father-in-law, Andrew LeBeaux; his sister-in-law Dalphine Lewis; and godson, Cedric Victor. Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of Providence #2 Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Providence #2 Baptist Church, 17294 River Rd, Montz, LA 70068. Rev. Vernell Braud-Officiating. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named Church. Interment Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 11316 River Rd, St. Rose, LA 70087. May you find hope for GOD is present to assure you of HIS guidance in the days ahead and may you find comfort for HE is present to walk with you through this difficult time.
