Ms. Ruby Martin

Ruby Martin, age 66, of Poplarville, MS, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, caregiver, and friend whose presence brightened the lives of all who knew her. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-singing karaoke with family and friends, tending to her garden of flowers, shopping for little treasures, and relaxing on her porch, while listening to the radio. Her laughter and vibrant spirit created countless cherished memories that her loved ones will hold dear. She is survived by three children: Wendy (Chris) Dillard, Mandy (Chad) Smith, and Scott (Melinda) Breland; her treasured grandchildren: Kayla (Jonathan), Katelyn, McKenzie, Chris Jr., Tyler (Cai), Taylor (Karlee), Kylie, and Randall; her great-grandchildren: Ryder, Nash, Rynsley, Raelynn, Lynleigh, Brayson, and Dawson; her loving companion of five years: Ronnie Carroll; four siblings: Eugene (Lucy), Mae (Dophus), David (Kay), and Diane (Buddy); and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents: John D. Martin and Willie C. Schilling; the father of her children: Robert Randy Breland; one brother: Richard Martin; a granddaughter: Kelcei Breland; her loving grandparents: Lee and Ruby Jones; three nieces: Pamela, Lydia, and Sandy; and one nephew: J.R. Ruby will be remembered most for her kind heart, her dedication to caring for others, and the way she made everyone feel loved and special. Though she may be gone from our sight, her laughter, her songs, and her love will live on as a beautiful reminder of a life well-lived, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final care and arrangements of Ms. Ruby Martin. Visitation will begin at 11:30AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, until time of service at 1PM.
