Bobby Wayne Sides

A family-only graveside service was held to celebrate the life of Bobby Wayne Sides, 79, of Weaver, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Maple Grove Cemetery, with military honors. Bobby passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert W. Sides and Connie Clark Sides; his beloved wife of 32 years, Joan Sides; his son, Brian W. Sides; two brothers; and two sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his children by marriage, Paul Keel Sr. (Tina), Paula "Sissy" Keel, and Janna Smith Chastain (John); his grandchildren, Hannah Imam, Sarah Imam Mann (Michael), and Justin Smith; great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Aiden Snyder; and his beloved cat, Calico. Bobby dedicated over 40 years of service to the Anniston Army Depot and proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard for more than four decades. A true patriot, he was known for his unwavering dedication to both his work and his country.He was an avid Alabama football fan, and he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-gardening, being outdoors, and cutting his grass. Those who knew Bobby will remember him for his generous heart, his sharp sense of humor, and his legendary one-liners. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
