Jerry Woodruff Obituary

Jerry W. Woodruff of Greenville, South Carolina, formerly of Anniston, Alabama, passed away on August 1, 2025. Jerry was an athlete of many sports and a graduate of Anniston High School. He then earned a degree in chemical engineering from The University of Alabama in 1967. He went on to earn a master's degree in business marketing from Wright State University in 1971 while serving in the United States Air Force as a Captain at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. After serving in the Air Force, he was employed by Fiber Industries in Shelby, North Carolina and Greenville, South Carolina. He was later the owner of Woodruff Industrials and took early retirement to help his wife, Charlotte, manage the day-to-day operations of her business, A Cut Above Hair Studio. Jerry was a member of The Greenville Country Club and an avid golfer. He held many positions on various committees at the club. He was the president of Augusta Road Businesses and instrumental in the building of the community's library. In addition, Jerry was president of the Marshall Forest Community Club for 18 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Jerry was a man of integrity, and a true gentleman who had a heart for babies and animals. He loved his family and friends very much. Charlotte would like to thank Jerry's caregivers, Freda Moon, Erica Menefee, and Darien Oliver. He loved them greatly and they returned his love. He also had a special friend, Mark Johnston, who never left him. Jerry is survived by his high school sweetheart, Charlotte M. Woodruff, fur baby, Sadie, and crazy cat, Luci, as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph W. Woodruff and mother, Martha D. Woodruff. "To love deeply is to grieve deeply." The family will receive visitors in Greenville, South Carolina at 361 Riverside Drive. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm (CST) at Miller Funeral Home, 50 Hamric Drive East, Oxford, AL 36203. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dementia Society of America, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
