Johnnie Clifton Hayes Jr.

Graveside services for Mr. Johnnie Clifton Hayes, Jr., 79, of Anniston, will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Rabbittown Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Roland Brown will be officiating. Preceding Mr. Hayes in death were his parents, Johnnie Clifton Hayes, Sr. and Mabel Dennis Hayes; and his brother, Joseph Moody Hayes. Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Hayes include his loving wife, Jo Ann Hayes of Anniston; his brother, James Thomas Hayes (Kathy) of Goodwater; one brother-in-law, Randall Fleming (Barbara) of Houston, Texas; nieces, Susan Milam (Mark) of Goodwater, Rene Moore (Jeremy) of Augusta, Kansas, Crystal Grooms (Eric) of El Dorado, Kansas, Traci Benefield (Brad) of Towanda, Kansas; and Kim Hayes of Andover, Kansas; and nephews, Tom Hayes (Lynn) of Guntersville, David Hayes of Birmingham, and Bishop Hayes (Cassandra) of Sylacauga. Mr. Hayes was born in Maplesville, Alabama and grew up in Talladega. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree. During his time in college, Mr. Hayes worked as a DJ for the 50,000 Watt WVOK in Birmingham. He served his country in the US Army and spent one year in Vietnam. Mr. Hayes was a pilot, a website creator, and an audiobook recorder of which he recorded over fifty audiobooks. His greatest passion was ministering to others through his gospel music show on K98 in Oxford. To know Mr. Hayes was to love him. He will be greatly missed, but forever remembered.
