BARBARA BROCK FURR
CONCORD — Barbara Brock Furr, 79, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Mrs. Furr was born December 10, 1944 to and Kenneth Brock and Sally Short Brock. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Charlie Furr; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Davis Furr. She was a member of Hanna Chapel United Methodist Church and Wade United Methodist Church for the last 20 years where her husband served as the pastor.
Barbara was a member of many United Methodist churches through the years as she moved with her husband. She did not like the spotlight, but served in many capacities in the church over the years, often doing many "behind the scenes" tasks and enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School. She loved serving others and volunteered weekly at the Anson Crisis Ministry until she became ill in September.
The graveside funeral service will be on Saturday, February 10th at 2pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Rev. Jimmie Furr of Concord, NC; brother-in-law, Richard Furr (Gayle) of Concord; nephews and nieces, Shane Furr (Leigh Ann) of Kannapolis, Travis Furr (Aprille) of China Grove, Leighann Furr of Kannapolis, NC, Andrew Furr, Alex Furr, Kennedy Furr and Kolton Furr; and cousin, Lois Cocks.
Memorials may be made to the Anson Crisis Ministry or other charity of the donor's choice. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Furr family.
