Carol Vizzini Obituary

Carol Redfield Vizzini

Carol Redfield Vizzini, beloved daughter, sister, and mother, died July 19 of complications from Parkinson's disease. She was 75.

She was born Carol Lynn Redfield on Jan. 3, 1946 in San Diego to Ernest and Diana. She graduated in 1968 from Philadelphia Music Academy. A noted cellist, Carol played throughout central New Jersey, reached the stage of Carnegie Hall, and taught at Westminster Conservatory. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fly fishing, and yoga. Despite being slight in stature, she practiced kickboxing as physical therapy after her Parkinson's diagnosis.

Carol was married to Edward Browning from 1968-1980 and Joseph M. Vizzini from 1997 to 2014. She is survived by her mother Diana; sisters Candace Rowe and Lisa Redfield; brother John Redfield; first husband Edward, daughter Charlotte, and son Victor Browning; and stepchildren Joseph and Kristin Vizzini.

Carol requested cremation. There will be a private service. A public celebration of her life is being planned for later this year.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carol's name to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org.

Carol was one of a circle of musical friends (all string players!) from high school days in Merchantville, NJ. We lost touch as adults but 5 of us reunited to celebrate our 60th birthdays 15 years ago. It was fun to see how everyone´s life had turned out, and we stayed in touch after that. Carol shared one of her cello CD´s with us - very impressive! We will miss her along with the other cellist in our group who died a few years ago.
She talked proudly of her family. Thanks you, Charlotte, for keeping in touch. Prayers for you and your brother, and to childhood friends, Candy, Lisa and John and your Mom.

Carol made our wedding day extra special by playing her cello so beautifully in the church. A truly wonderful lady who will forever hold a special place in both our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time.
