Emma Fontanella Obituary

Emma Fontanella AGE: 92 • Bridgewater Emma Fontanella, 92, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center. Born in Bronx, New York, she lived in Madison, N.J., before moving to Arbor Glen in Bridgewater, N.J. 16 years ago. Emma was a graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Columbia Teachers College with a BA and a Masters Degree in Education. She was a Music Teacher in the grade schools of Randolph Township for 25 years retiring in 1981. She was an accomplished pianist. In later years she formed and directed a Choral Group at Arbor Glen. Emma is predeceased by her sisters, Marion A. Fontanella and Helen F. Triggs. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Vida Turner-Thibault and her husband Ronald of Randolph, N.J., Jeffery Triggs and his wife Sara of Madison, N.J., and Janice Chubay and her husband Nicholas of Madison, N.J.; five great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 10:00AM at Assumption Church, Maple Avenue, Morristown, N.J. followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J. Visiting will be on Friday evening from 7-9 PM at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, N.J. 07940.
