Frank P. Weil

AGE: 85 • Shrewsbury

Frank P. Weil, 85, of Shrewsbury, passed away at Brandywyne Assisted Living, Shrewsbury, on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

Mr. Weil was born in Union City and raised in Jersey City. He was a 3-sport, All-County /All State athlete at St. Michael's High School. He went on to Fordham University where he also excelled at sports playing football under Vince Lombardi his freshman year.

Upon graduation, he was drafted by the Boston Braves. After a brief baseball career, he joined Colgate-Palmolive, where during a career spanning 30 years, he rose to the rank of National Sales Manager. His career required a move to Colgate's Chicago office, during which time the Weils resided in Barrington. Illinois. After returning to Colgate's New York office, they lived in Colts Neck and Millstone. After retiring from Colgate, Mr. Weil started a consulting firm, Frank P. Weil Associates, which he operated into his 80's. He was a loving husband and father, and a devoted grandfather who never missed one of his grandchildren's games. He loved gardening and the beach but most of all spending time with his family whether it be on the beach in Captiva or a ball field.

Mr. Weil was predeceased by his parents, John and Katherine (O'Connell) Weil. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan (nee Sullivan), his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Mary Weil, of Allenhurst, and his grandchildren, Eric and Mark Weil, of Bradley Beach, and Lauren Weil, of Conshohocken, Pa. He is also survived by his sister, Eileen Campbell, of Woodcliff Lake, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bob and Gayle Jacobs, of Upper Saddle River, their son, Douglas Jacobs, and other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 5-8 PM. The Funeral Service and Entombment in AtlanticView Cemetery, Manasquan will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Weil's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365 www.alz.org/nj.
