Gary Zackeru Obituary
AGE: 51 • Hillsborough
Gary Zackeru entered peacefully into eternal life on June 21, 2014 due to complications from ALS. Gary grew up in South Bound Brook, NJ and resided in Hillsborough, NJ for the past 20 years. He is pre-deceased by his loving parents, Stephen and Josephine (Meeker), his brother Stephen Sr. and his brother-in-law, Robert Peters. Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Paula (Peters), cherished sons William and Kyle, both at home; brothers Robert (Montgomery, NJ) , Jeffrey and his wife, Rhonda (Supply, NC); father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Mary Lou Peters (Wirtz, VA); sister-in-law, Teri Peters (Midland, MI); Eight nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins and friends.
Gary was a member of the Union Local 472 and worked for Fai-Gon Electrical Contractors for 13 years. He enjoyed coaching both of his sons baseball and football teams and was an active volunteer with Hillsborough Baseball League, Junior Raiders Football and the Hillsborough Diamond Club. Gary enjoyed his life to its fullest and always made sure to have a good time with his family and friends. We will never forget the memories we made, the stories we shared and the million times he made everyone laugh and smile. He will be forever in the hearts of anyone who knew him and never forgotten.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Hillsborough Funeral Home from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10:30am, Mary, Mother of God Church, Hillsborough. Cremation will be private.

As I was a Bound Brook guy that somehow broke in with the crazy Hi-Tam's crowd, there are those who always stand out, even among that particular cast of (Cherished) characters. I know I can always think back with love in my heart and bursting laughter, upon Gary, and how fortunate one is to have known him for even a minute. A prized memory with Zach is truly a gift forever.
