Helen Varinsky Trombetta

AGE: 91 • Lakewood

Helen Varinsky Trombetta 91, of Lakewood died Saturday, June 20, at Harrogate in Lakewood, where she lived since 2006. She was employed for 25 years teaching high school Business Education for the West New York Public Schools, before retiring in 1989. She was very active in the Ladies of UNICO, Ridgefield Chapter and in 1989 received UNICO's Woman of the Year. While living in Manchester, she was very active in the area Kiwanis Club, acting as a liaison with Manchester Township High School to raise money for college scholarships. She was also engaged in the Deborah Heart & Lung Center Foundation's charitable work. Helen enjoyed Line Dancing and Bridge Club while residing at Leisure Village West. In Lakewood, she was also a member of the Garden Club and the "Red Hat Ladies." Helen was born in Hudson County and lived for many years in Ridgefield, before retiring with husband Sal and moving to Manchester where they lived for 17 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Trombetta, who died in 2002. Surviving are 2 sons and a daughter in law, Leonard Trombetta of Houston, TX, John and Betty Trombetta of Plano, TX, a daughter, Elisa Trombetta and her husband, Tom Vestergaard of Cresskill, and 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas, Sophie, Anna, Eddie, and Kayla. Visitation is Friday from 2-5 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Service is Saturday at 9:00 am at the funeral home with entombment to follow at the Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Deborah Heart & Lung Center, PO Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. Dr. Trombetta,
No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. But take comfort in knowing that your Mom is now resting in the arms of our Lord. Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family.
