Jodi Pike Obituary
AGE: 35 • Arlington, VA
Dr. Jodi Pike, a pediatric cardiologist at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, of inflammatory breast cancer at Sibley Memorial Hospital, also in Washington, DC. She was 35 and a resident of Arlington, VA. Dr. Pike specialized in pediatric and fetal echocardiography, and was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine. She was Medical Unit Director of the Heart and Kidney Unit for the past year at Children's National, where she also completed a residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric cardiology. Dr. Pike is a graduate of Manalapan High School in Manalapan, NJ; Cornell University in Ithaca, NY; and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dr. Pike is survived by her husband of 9 years, Brett Rosenau of Arlington; their two daughters, Bailey (3) and Claire (6 months) and beloved dog, Simon; sister, Rena Kramer, her husband Josh, and son, Bram of Boston, MA; mother, Beth Sherman and husband Tom of Waretown; father, Michael Pike of Queens, NY; grandfather, Howard Pike, also of Queens; grandfather, Aaron Kutz and wife Marjorie of Manalapan; grandmother, Susan Cooper of New York, NY; stepsister, Nancy Dragone, her husband Jeffrey and son, Warner of Blue Bell, PA; stepbrother, Brian and wife Stephania of Orlando, FL; mother- and father-in-law, Renee and Steven Rosenau of Ambler, PA; sister-in-law, Jolee, her husband Seth, and daughters, Rayna and Dara of Basking Ridge; sister-in-law, Melissa, her husband Tim, and daughter, Rachel of Lower Gwynedd, PA; aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Ave. (Route 527 North), Manalapan.

Dear Brett, Bailey and Claire,
I am incredibly sorry to hear about your unspeakable loss. I first met Jodi at boot camp before starting fellowship. She was the most caring and kind person. Her radiant smile and humble, helpful nature have made a difference to many hearts. My most heartfelt sympathy is extended to her entire family, especially her two little angels Bailey and Claire. Jodi Pike was my granddaughter's pediatric cardiologist. Thanks to her my granddaughter was correctly diagnosed last September, whisked off to Children's Hospital, D.C., operated on 7 days after birth. I was shocked when my daughter in law told me about Dr. Pike's tragic death. I extend my deepest sympathy to Dr. Pike's family, especially her husband and two little daughters. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Jodi. She was a beautiful and kind physician. She took care of my daughter many days and nights in the Cardiac ICU at Childrens National Medical Center.

I got to know Jodi very well as we spent many hours working in the field together for Children's National Medical Center. I am the Physician Liaison and she was always the most willing to speak at any event, do a grand rounds talk, visit any pediatrician's office, call families personally to speak with parents. Anything to help. I learned an awful lot from her and will miss her very much.
