JOSEPH FRANK SBANO
AGE: 53 JACKSON TOWNSHIP
Joseph Frank Sbano, 53, of Jackson Township, died Thursday, Oct. 9 at Boston Medical Center, Boston, Mass., surrounded by his family and friends. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., settling in Jackson Twp. 25 years ago. Mr. Sbano worked for the Township of Jackson as the Animal Control Officer and Animal Cruelty Investigator for many years.
Mr. Sbano was predeceased by his father, Frank Sbano. He is survived by his partner, Franklin Menzel, of Jackson Twp.; his mother, Mary Sbano of Brick; his sister and brother-in-law, Johanna Sbano and Billy, of Seaside Heights; his brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Sonja Sbano of Cologne, Germany and Frank and Rosemarie Sbano of Staten Island, N.Y.; his maternal grandmother, Jenny Vassili of Brick; ten nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews; and by his best friend, Tim Simonsen of Manhattan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the memory of Joseph Frank Sbano to the Volunteer Auxiliary for Animal Shelter Inc., 615 Freemont Ave., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527, and would greatly be appreciated. Joe will truly be missed in the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Animal Welfare community. He was a wonderful, compassionate individual who gave so much of himself unselfishlessly to help all animals.

To Franklin and all the Sbano family -Chris and I were shocked and saddened when we heard the news of Joe's passing. We were so praying that he would recover. He will be missed by all of us.
