AGE: 79 • Middletown

Lawrence McGrogan, 79, of Middletown, NJ, died on November 17, 2014 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, NJ. He was born on January 5, 1935 to the late Michael and Jean (nee Alexander) McGrogan in Jersey City, NJ. Lawrence and his four brothers, known as The Fightin' McGrogans, all enlisted in the service. He served in the United States Air Force from January of 1952 until he retired as a TSgt in January of 1972. Lawrence then worked for IFF for over 20 years as a maintenance man. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Post 2179, the American Legion, Post 0515, the Middletown Elks, Lodge 2179, and the Goodfellas. Among his many enjoyments in life, he loved to fish.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathleen McGrogan of Ocala, FL. Lawrence was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennifer McGrogan; his second wife, Linda McGrogan; and his son, John McGrogan.

A Military Inurnment Service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11 am at the Chapel on Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, Arnytown. For more information, to send condolences or for directions, please visit www.pflegerfh.com.
