I have a lot of memories of my Aunt Linda.

When I think of Linda, I think of our family all being together on the holidays and that we used to say grace. I think of great food. I think of eating delicious deviled eggs in the summer on the back patio. I think of Thanksgiving pumpkin pie and homemade whipped cream. I think of eating crepes in Europe. I think of homemade gifts. I think of the knitted blanket on my bed that she spend a year making for me. I think of her homemade Christmas vests. I think of riding in a mini-van listening to Linda signing to bubblegum music. And I think of the scrapbook she made for us with photos of our relatives who were living and who had passed. She made sure we knew who our family was. Linda was like the glue that kept us together. Not that our family gatherings were "normal" but Linda brought us together and she brought us tradition.

My Aunt Linda loved to learn, she loved to make things, and she loved to teach. I'm not saying that because it was her profession. I do think she loved teaching French. But outside of work she loved to show us how to do things, how to cook, how to make crafts... I think she loved teaching because she was so thoughtful and giving and because she valued quality time with her family. She loved to share things that she learned to do and to spend time doing them with her loved ones. One of the thing Linda showed TJ and I to do that I remember clearly was to poke a pin-hole in an egg shell and blow the egg white and yoke out. We painted the delicate egg shells with pastel paints and hung them with a ribbon. Linda also loved to travel, to see new things, to learn about other cultures and history. And she loved to share these experiences with others.

There are some things I already do that remind me of Linda. I've started making all my gifts for people. I've been trying for years to make homemade whipped cream as good as Linda's. I remember that she said the key was to chill the bowl before you whip it and you only add a little powdered sugar after it's set up. Still, mine doesn't compare but I'll keep trying.

In memory of my Aunt Linda I will start making deviled eggs using the fancy icing tool on special occasions. I will make sure I know who my ancestor are. I will spend holidays with my living relatives and make sure we say grace. I'll teach the next generation how to make egg shell decorations and how to knit. And I'll make sure the next generation know who their ancestors are.

Thank you Aunt Linda for the time you spend with us, for what you taught us, and for everything you shared with us.

Linda, rest in peace. You were a very good person and a great teacher. I had the pleasure of cleaning her house for many years while she was teaching High School French. I was very saddened by this news.

Linda was one of the teachers who welcomed me to Brick Memorial when I started in 1997. She was an outstanding example of how to be a professional teacher and faculty leader, Her presence has been missed here since the day she retired and the world will miss her presence now that she has passed on. Thank you Linda

My condolences to the Warren family. I had Mrs. Warren for four years of French (1988-1992). She was a wonderful teacher and a funny, nice, warm woman. I am so sorry to hear this news, and even though I've not been in touch since she moved to Colorado, Mrs. Warren will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing.

I worked with your Dad, Barry, for many years at Air Cruisers and remembered how excited he was while helping to plan your wedding. And he was over the moon when he became a grandfather. Your son, Matt, and my son Sean, attended Clemson University at the same time and by chance we sat next to Kenny and Matt at parents orientation at one session. I know you are at peace now with your baby girls and parents.

I have very fond memories of a class trip to Paris in April of 1984 in which Mrs Warren was one of our chaperones. Although I was in the Italian class, Mrs Warren took me under her wing and helped me along with my French during this trip. Her great sense of humor and the high level of dedication and passion she had for teaching and for her students will always stand out in my mind. I will also never forget her compassion and caring spirit when she helped rally faculty to organize a talent show/fund-raiser for a fellow teacher that was battling cancer. She always radiated such positive energy. My deepest condolences to her family.
