I remember when Lou first touched our lives. I was 13 at the time and working at the Loch Arbor Beach Club. It was just like any other day. My mom, Peggy came by after working her second job at Archers Limousines in Allenhurst on Main Street right above the Allenhurst Barber Shop, but this particular day was different. One glance at my mom and knew that something had changed, she had a sparkle in her eye, a bounce in her step and a smile from ear to ear. This was a sight that I have not seen in her for as long as I can remember. At first I thought, did she win the lottery? I then asked what was new and she replied that a nice handsome gentleman asked her out on a date and she asked if I would do her make up. This was over 25 years ago and looking back now she/we did in fact win the lottery, the lottery of unconditional love that is! Although Lou was not our "biological" father, he was a father to us none the less and we viewed him as such. He was an incredible man; kind, warm, thoughtful, loving and honest are just a few words to describe him. We have lost a good, genuine, and honest person someone that is rare in the world we live in today. He would do anything for anybody weather he knew you or not. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly! Lou, I know you are up in heaven now flying with the angels and you are looking over all of us. You will be forever in my heart, until we meet again.
Love Always,
Kimberly Kuchen

I remember the day Lou came into our lives. I was 13 at the time and working at the Loch Arbor Beach Club. It was just like any other day. My mom, Peggy would stop in after working her second job at Archers Limousine in Allenhurst on Main Street to catch the last bit of sun that was left for the day, but this day was different. I looked at my mom and saw a sparkle in her eye and a smile from ear to ear, this was a sight that I haven't seen in my mom for a very long time. At first, I was thinking to myself did she win the lottery? My mom began to tell me that a really nice handsome man had asked her out to dinner and she wanted me to do her make-up. This was 25 years ago and looking back she did in fact hit the lottery, the lottery in love that is. Lou was not my "biological" father, but he was a father to Ken and I none the less and we considered him as such. Lou was loved by many and we will miss him greatly. I know you will be watching over us, until we meet again. You are and will forever be in my heart! Love Kim Kuchen

Lou was my barber for a number of years. I always tried to see him early on Saturday mornings, so we could have some conversation together without interruption. Often I would yell or wave to him as he was crossing Wickapecko Drive; definitely a good guy. My sympathies to Peggy and the entire Sama family.
