MEGAN ELIZABETH MCCANN
AGE: 17 JACKSON
Megan Elizabeth McCann, 17, of Jackson Township, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6 in Jackson Township. Megan was born in Toms River, settling in Jackson Twp. 16 years ago. Megan was in her senior year at Jackson Memorial High School. She worked at various, local establishments including Coastal Pulmonary, with Dr. Michael Joyce, CVS and Gymboree. Megan was a communicant at St. Monica's R.C. Church, Jackson Township.
Megan is survived by her parents, Michael C. and Debra DeVine McCann, of Jackson Township; her brother, Michael C. McCann, Jr., of Jackson Township; her sisters, Allison E. McCann and her fiance, Peter Muend, of Jackson Township and Kelly L. McCann of Jackson Township; her paternal grandmother, Margaret E. McCann, of Lakewood Township; her aunts and uncles, Patty and Ted McKelvey, of Eagleswood Township, Susan McCann and Jennifer Stay, of Nyack, N.Y., Kathleen McCann, of New Hope, Pa., Cathy Lester, of New Hope, Pa., Steven McCann, of Washington D.C. and the Netherlands and Edward C. DeVine, of Little Egg Harbor Township and by her cousins, Teddy McKelvey, of Eagleswood Township, Karen and Dean Adam of Tuckerton and Laura McKelvey and her fiance, Todd Wersinger, of Galloway Township.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, at The George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Township. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Her funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road Jackson Township. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood Township. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in the memory of Megan to the Susan B. Megan was not only a classmate to me at vocational school but someone who I became so close too. Going there each day and having to open a locker in which we shared and seeing an empty seat is so hard. I can only imagine the pain that you as a family are going through because i've only known her for 2 years and she made the biggest impact on my life. Her smile and the sound of her laughter will stay with me forever. May she rest in peace now and look down on all of the people whose hearts she has touched.

This is so hard...I know that no words or expressions can do anything for you guys. It's so hard to say goodbye to someone you love so much. Megan was so full of energy and I will always remember the mermories we all had together. Going to Cruise Nite and the boardwalk and comming over my house with Allison cuz you wanted to play with Lil Dave. Keep an eye on all of us. Lord knows we need it. To the Mccann Family- I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember Megan very fondly as a frequent visitor to the nurse's office at Goetz School. Although I haven't seen Megan since 8th grade she will always be a part of my memories at Goetz. She could always bring a smile to my face, even when she was trying to go home! I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter/sister. I have seen her around school and she always had a smile on her face. i remember she was at the nail salon with her friend morgan ready to go to junior formal and she was all excited. The last time I saw Megan she had a big smile on her face and was quick to offer a helping hand. She was a kind hearted person and I am sure she is resting in the hands of the Lord. To all her love one's only God can heal the broken hearted. We love you Megan and you will be missed.

Thank you for sharing Megan with us. She was a beautiful girl, inside and out. We miss her coming over every day and popping her head over the gate to say, Hi!
She was the kind of girl who touched everyone’s heart. She always had a smile on and made everyone she met happy.
