Nina Gresko Silow died on August 17, 2015, at Meridian Nursing and Rehab at Shrewsbury. Nina was born August, 17, 1915 in New York City to parents Sebastian and Anna Gresko, and sister Helen. She married William Silow of New Jersey in 1938, settling in Middletown.

Nina was a skilled seamstress, joining the ILGWU in 1944. She worked at The Eisner Clothing Factory in Red Bank and various other manufacturers along the jersey shore until her retirement in 1979.

Nina possessed an innate sense of design and beauty that belied her beginnings in the tenements of the Lower East Side of NYC. When the history of garage sales in Monmouth County is written, she will be named as one of the founders, understanding as she did that all that is gold does not glitter. She was a cook that needed no recipe, had a hearty laugh, liked to sing, and loved a good cup of coffee with a hard roll and butter. No matter her circumstances, she found a way to give of herself to others. She is the origin of a lifetime of stories, love, hugs, tears and memories, and will be held close and alive in the memory of all who knew her. She left this world on her 100th birthday - you always were a pistol Nina.

She is survived by: Daughter; Anna Tina Silow Bivona, Red Bank, Brother; Lawrence Gresko,San Diego, CA.

Her grandchildren; Lisa Bivona, Chapel Hill, NC. Lauren Bivona O'Neil, Zionsville, IN. Alexandra Silow, San Diego, CA. Nicholas Silow, Madrid, Spain.

Great grandchildren: Nina O'Neil, Zionsville IN, Evan O'Neil, Zionsville IN.

Predeceased by: Sister, Helen Gresko Michalowski. Sister ;Alice Gresko Wybernac. Husband; William Silow. Son; William Timothy Silow.
