Patsy Garruto

AGE: 90 • West Long Branch

Patsy Garruto, 90, of West Long Branch, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at home. He was born and raised in Newark and lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch 65 years ago. He was a member of the NARFE. Patsy served in the US Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart for injuries during battle. He was a systems analyst at Fort Monmouth before retiring. Patsy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved to swim, travel and entertain at his house.

He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor in 2010; his parents, Clemente and Caterina Garruto and sister, Frances Tufo.

Surviving are his daughters, Kathleen and Doreen Garruto.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 9-11 am Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The ARC of Monmouth County, 1158 Wayside Road, Wayside, NJ 07712 or to the SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724.
