Sean McDevitt Obituary
AGE: 61 • Toms River
Sean M. McDevitt, 61, of Toms River, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Neptune, he was a longtime resident of Seaside Heights and attended Central Regional High School, Class of 1972. During his youth he operated the popular Himalaya and Jet Star amusement rides at the Casino Pier on the Seaside Heights boardwalk. For over 10 years he was a state firefighter at the Meadowlands Sport Complex. Sean's early passion and love for music led him to become a well-known DJ in the Tri-State area, "Sean Mack." He began his 40 year entertainment career with Pro DJ Entertainment and later worked at Jenkinson's Pavilion and numerous venues in the Tri-State area. Sean's most recent project involved broadcasting on the rock internet radio show, "The Park".
He is predeceased by his wife Cynthia Hobbs McDevitt in 2008 and his mother Muriel. Surviving are his son Casey; his father John; his sister Colleen Boueil; niece Laurence Boueil; brother-in-law Peter Chambers and sister-in-law Allison Chambers.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Sean's life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 25, 2015 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Cremation will be private. Condolences may be made by visiting www.andersonandcampbell.com.

Not the first but memorable just the same. Half dozen of us hanging in Centrals music room , Shawn locks the door and debuts Leslie West and Mountain "Mississippi Queen" at about volume 200! Mind blowing as the powers to be yanked on the door! Reminds me of Andy Dufrain in Shawshank! Epic ( also sold me my first bootleg, Let it Be, wish I had that now! Thank you for the memories Shawn

We we're the type of friends that didn't see each other a lot but when we did it was like 2 giddy kids in a sandbox. Sean...those hours I spent with you last Sunday afternoon are forever etched into my being. Im happy that I came to visit you, was able to convey a few things to you that day and that prayers were answered. Georgy Girl took on a whole new meaning that day. You lit up your little part of the world to a lot of people that will never forget. Rest In Peace Brother †

Sean's sense of humor and love of music clearly rubbed off on his son Casey. If not for his influence, treasured years of my youth would have had much less laughter and a less eclectic soundtrack. The last time I saw him he was helping Casey set up for a DJ set and it was awesome to see him passing the torch to his son. I just wish he had gotten Casey to wear that banana suit I had heard so much about.

I'm going to miss you brother, we spent a lot of time together on the boardwalk and at your house. I got married and we didn't ' t really stay in touch as much as we should have. Again I am glad we went out to asbury park last year together and had a great time. Again you will be missed love you and rock them in heaven.

Sean I will always remember our days at CRHS and especially our 40th Class Reunion. You really rocked the house that eveining. My thoughts and prayers go out to your Family.
