Silva Higgins Obituary
Brick - Silva Higgins, age 83, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 peacefully . Born and raised in Italy, Silva immigrated to the United States when she was 15 years old where she lived in West Long Branch before moving to Brick in 1973.
Mrs. Higgins worked as a school crossing guard for the Brick Township Police Department for many years.
Silva loved to cook, crochet and attend baseball games. She enjoyed traveling especially to Mexico but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband William Kenneth Higgins in 1993.
Surviving are her loving children; Debra Luzzo and her husband Rich, Francine Alvino and her husband Vinny and Billy Higgins and his wife Jenn; her sister Fulvia Padilla; her six grandchildren, Carleigh, Jeremy, Ashley, Alyssa, Brandon and Alexa and her great-grandchild, Eddie.
Viewing will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick with a service being held at 6:00 p.m. Cremation is private.
For Silva's love of wolves, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Lakota Wolf Preserve at www.lakotawolf.com in memory of Silva Higgins.
