Thomas Williams Obituary

Thomas D. Williams, Jr.

Brick - Thomas D. "Tom" Williams, Jr., 59, of Brick passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2019 at his home. Tom was the proud owner and operator of Jersey Joe's Barbecue in Garwood. Sometimes referred to as "Jersey Joe", Tom loved what he did & loved working beside his family. He graduated in 1978 from Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington, DE. He held a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in Miami, FL. After graduating, he moved to New Jersey to be with the love of his life and best friend, Cindy. They married in 1985 and moved to Brick to begin raising their family.

Tom was an avid fisherman, he loved to go camping and he had a passion for coaching boys and girls of all ages in both basketball and soccer. His family and friends meant the world to him; not a day went by that anyone doubted his love and devotion to those closest to him.

Tom was predeceased by his mother, Dolores Esrey; father Thomas D. Williams, Sr.; and uncle, Charles Moran. Surviving are his loving wife and best friend of 33 years, Cindy (Scalzadonna) Williams; 2 sons, Erin Williams and his wife, Amanda of Garwood, and Thomas D. "Tucker" Williams, III of Brick; 2 grandsons, Xander and Tristan; as well as many family members, friends and faithful customers.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Funeral Mass will be offered 9am on Monday at St. Dominic's RC Church, Brick. Sorry to hear about your husband and father Tom was a good friend of mine in 9th grade vacation with him and his family in Ocean City. We both went to Pocono Mountains basketball camp together in ninth grade. We had a blast sorry I did not keep up with him.
He will be in my prayers.
My condolences
