Daryl Munzer Obituary

Daryl David Munzer, M.D. was born in La Mesa, CA, on March 15, 1956. Son of Catherine Veronica Munzer and Milo Max Munzer.

Daryl met his wife, Joyce, almost 40 years ago while he was a medical student at U.C.L.A. He was on a clinical rotation and she was a nurse at the primary office. They were wed on May 5, 1984, and started their married life in San Bernardino, CA, where Daryl completed his medical residency and where they became parents to Claire Marie (Yu).

Subsequently, they moved to San Luis Obispo, CA, to begin his career and had their son, Jeffrey Allen Munzer. In December of 1989, Daryl and his family moved to Yuba City, CA, where their youngest daughter, Vivienne Noelle (Rus) would be born. Joyce and Daryl would remain together in the home that their children grew up in and would travel often until his sudden passing on March 21, 2024.

Daryl's greatest joys in life was spending time with his family and helping those in his community. Daryl practiced medicine for over 34 years in the Yuba Sutter area and was passionate about helping his patients. He was a beloved doctor, husband, father, and grandfather.

He leaves behind his wife; three children and their spouses; his grandchildren, Gwen and Casey; and a large extended family. He will be missed tremendously.

Daryl's service will be on March 27, 2024, at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Service will be officiated by Father Leon Juchniewicz. Reception to follow immediately.

Dr.Munzer was such a kind & caring man & Dr. He always smiled when I shared about praying regarding my ailments.
My prayers to the family, and especially his wife Joyce. The journey you are now on is one where Jesus will definitely meet you. I´m on that same journey personally and experience the promise: "Do not be afraid, or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you, nor for sake you."
