Yesterday

I just heard of Ed´s death, 12 years ago. Ed was a fantastic Marine Officer. He worked with and for me on several occasions. I actively sought Ed out to join me. He and Karen were a great team and Cam and I were so sad when they lost Baron. I think of Ed and Karen often, and credit my success to Marines like Ed. Bill Armstrong, Col (ret) USMC

LtCol Melton was of the old Corps, a direct and honest Marine with great integrity. He was a great XO, leader of Marines, and mentor for me at MCCES. May he rest in peace, and may God bless his family. - Semper Fidelis

Karen, with great sadness we learned of his passing, but with joyful memories of long ago, I remember well our time together in the Corps. May the Lord shine his grace on you and yours and comfort you. I will never forget him.

We will miss Ed so much, he was one of the reasons we retired June 1, 2013 so we could spend some time with Karen and Ed. Greg always wanted to go back to Washington with Ed. He was one of Greg's best friends. He cut our wedding cake with his Marine sword in his white Marine Uniform. We will truly miss you, and love you always. Love Freddie Shirlene and husband Greg Davis.

Karen & Family, may the good Lord provide strength and resolve, may you fondly remember the great life experiences, and per the MC Hymn, may you remember that Ed is now guarding the streets in Heaven. I also recently lost a loved one, when my younger brother unexpectedly passed away 2 days prior to Ed. Semper Fidelis.
