BRADLEY DORSEY 07/03/1961 - 08/15/2025 Brad was born in Roseville, California on July 3, 1961. Being part of a military family that moved frequently, his early years were spent in California and Florida. Brad's Dad retired from the Air Force in 1965 and the family moved to Sayre, Oklahoma where Brad started grade school. Soon, the family made a final move to Cordell, Oklahoma where Brad finished his education and graduated from Cordell High School in 1979. He was a normal kid that loved his cars, music and was a valued member of the Blue Devil's marching band. Brad had many talents and excelled at technical trades. During his high school years, he worked hard learning skills as an electrical and plumbing apprentice. After graduating, he took his talents and applied them as a maintenance technician at the Base Housing area of the former Clinton Sherman AFB. He also learned to operate heavy machinery and eventually secured a position driving for Haliburton Industries. When oil and gas production slowed in the early 1980's, Brad went to his dad for guidance and there his dad set him on a course that would mold his path for the future. He started as a lineman and installer in the TV cable industry. His hard work and talents paid off and he was promoted to office manager. His first assignment was in Dalhart, Texas. He was well liked by his bosses locally and by the senior staff at the corporate level in Phoenix, Arizona. As his career continued, he was given more responsibility and was repeatedly moved to areas that were struggling. Brad had a knack for developing innovative ways to increase subscribers while maintaining a positive relationship with the community. Brad was well liked by both his customers and his employees. He was honest, fair and rewarded his employees accordingly. Brad completed assignments in Texas and Oklahoma and was eventually transferred to Cottonwood, Arizona where he was tasked with improving processes and increasing customer subscriptions. His success there led to another move to Show Low, Arizona where he managed offices that included Holbrook and Winslow. In 2015, Brad became General Manager for Southern Oklahoma Region. He retired in June 2024 and traded pressed shirts and slacks for the more comfortable attire of baggy shorts, racing t-shirts or bib overalls. Brad loved to play golf and was generally the first pick for company "Scramble" competitions, based on his ability to provide long distance drives. He was always quick to note that accuracy was not his strong point! He also enjoyed quail hunting in western Oklahoma where accuracy was his strong point. Brad did not miss! He had a passion for racing cars and, even with a limited budget in his early years, managed to stay competitive. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and is probably best known for his passion for grilling. Whether at the race track or entertaining on his patio at home, Brad could serve up a feast fit for royalty! He never met a stranger and everyone was welcome to join in. Brad's legacy will be his family which he absolutely cherished. He was kind and affectionate and passed all those great qualities on to his kids and grandkids. He always put family first, making sure they had whatever they needed, even if it meant sacrificing something that he wanted or needed. He never seemed to get angry and was blessed with patience. He will also be remembered for his generosity. Whether it be volunteering after storm damage, helping our Veterans, serving the community, or coming to the aid of a friend. Everyone knew they could count on Brad. Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Genevieve Dorsey. He is survived by his loving wife Cathy, his son Joe Dorsey and wife Rachel, his daughter Sarah Dorsey, grandkids Tytus, Aida and Jaxson Dorsey, stepdaughter Shannon Murphy, grandsons Dylon Wheeler and Ethan Vasquez. Brother-in-law Shawn Harp and his wife Amber, nephew and niece Currin and Kaylee Harp. He is also survived by brother Dan Dorsey and wife Susie, sister Linda Dorsey Merkey and husband Dr. Mike Merkey, niece Madalyn Merkey and many, many close friends. With his passing, on Friday, August 15, 2025, Brad leaves behind a fishing boat full of broken hearts. A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Hale's Memorial Chapel in Sulphur. Pastor Dusk Monetathchi will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street NW, Ardmore, OK 73401. Services are "entrusted to" Hale's Funeral Home of Sulphur.
