Singleton McMullan Obituary

DR. SINGLETON DEWAYNE "WAYNE" MCMULLAN Dr. Singleton DeWayne "Wayne" McMullan of Edmond, Okla., passed away on August 15, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Wayne retired from the US Public Health Service where he was a mental health professional and administrator for twenty-five years. Following that he established a private consulting firm and provided consultations to numerous Indian Tribes throughout the country, on the development of substance abuse treatment programs. Dr. McMullan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Edmond, Okla. Through his years he had numerous leadership positions in the church as well as civic groups. He also volunteered as a youth baseball coach and scout leader for many years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth "Liz" McMullan; a son, Tim McMullan (Stacy) of Shawnee, Okla.; a daughter, Susan Ledgerwood (Dan) of Cushing, Okla.; a sister, Sue Tennyson (Ken) of Katy, Texas; sister-in-law Ellen McMullan of Mobile, Ala.; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Hackman; brother-in-law, Russell Hackman; brother Larry McMullan; and his parents, Singleton and Mary Lou McMullan. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Edmond, Okla., on August 30, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. Wayne suggested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Doctors Without Borders, USA.
