Danny Skeen Obituary
Danny Ray Skeen
April 15, 1958 - June 23, 2025
Danny Ray Skeen, a cherished father, husband, brother, and friend, was born on April 15, 1958, in Burns, OR, to Delmar and Evelyn Skeen. He left this world peacefully on June 23, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer, and is now at home with his Father in Heaven.
Danny was a devoted father to his two sons, Zack and Jeremy (Amanda), from his first marriage to Lana Nordhus. He also embraced the role of stepfather to Christi and Michael, and he took great pride in his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.
A proud graduate of New Plymouth High School in 1975, Danny began his career in construction shortly after graduation, working for Lzicar Construction. It was during this time that he met and married Lana Nordhus while working in South Dakota. After moving back to the area and later divorcing, Danny continued to build a successful career in construction, eventually starting his own fence-building company. In September 1999, he began working at the Oregon State Correctional Institute, where he met Linda, who would become his beloved wife. Together, they shared 24 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.
Danny had a passion for fishing and traveling, and he and Linda created many beautiful memories on their trips together. He was also an avid fan of BSU football, often attending games with his brother-in-law, Rod, where they shared in the excitement and camaraderie of the sport.
Danny is survived by his loving parents, Delmar and Evelyn Skeen; his three sisters, Debbie (Derry) Hawker, Sherry Maupin, and Deanna (Vern) Hancock; and a host of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A celebration of Danny's life will be held on Saturday, July 19th, at 2 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church, located at 327 West Elm, New Plymouth, ID. All who knew Danny are invited to join in honoring his legacy and sharing stories of a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local cancer support organization, reflecting Danny's spirit of generosity and love for others. He will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
