Robert Blake Obituary

WASHINGTON C.H. - Robert E. Blake, 87, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Friday, July 20, 2018, at his home. Bob was born March 16, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., to Asa Austin and Cressie Mae Cassill Blake.
He was a 1951 graduate of McArthur High School, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked in the shipping department at Armco for 38 years, retiring in 1993.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings, George, Ray and Bill Blake, Grace Blake, Ruth Rutter, Mary Ann Yates and Irene Calvin.
He is survived by his wife, the former E. Ann James; two children, Robert Jeffery (Jacqueline) Blake of Worthington; and Julie Blake (Alan) Mark of Washington C.H.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, at noon, at Grace United Methodist Church, immediately followed by a reception in the church's fellowship hall. Private burial in Bloomingburg Cemetery.
Visitation at the church will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 301 E. Market St.; or Ohio's Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington C.H., OH 43160.

I will always remember playing in Uncle Bob's yard and having family meals in the house and listening to his stories about life. I will always remember his face when he asked me what I thought about the OSU national championship game, I had not watched it. I pray for peace for my Aunt, cousins, and the entire Blake family.
