Ann CAUBLE Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

CAUBLE, Ann Illingworth Ann Illingworth Cauble, age 91, of Atlanta passed away on June 16, 2013. Ann was born in East Orange New Jersey to Robert Illingworth and Ruth Jamieson. She graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. She then attended the Army Cadet Core of Nursing at Yale University. It was at Yale that she met her future husband, Thomas Cauble. It was love at first sight, or perhaps she just loved a man in uniform. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ann Cauble was a member of Peachtree United Methodist Church, The Piedmont Driving Club, The Peachtree Golf Club, and a founding member of The Phoenix Debutante Society. She enjoyed needlepointing, reading, and being a world class traveler. Ann traveled so frequently, she often joked about writing a novel called, "A Broad Goes Abroad." Bucky, as she was known to her family, loved cooking for her family and would often spoil the grandchildren with pies and other tasty treats. Ann was predeceased by her husband of fifty six years, Tom Cauble. She is survived by her sister Melinda Paterson of Highlands North Carolina; her three daughters Caroline Haverkampf, Melinda Schomaker, Ellen Ison and her husband Bob Ison; her grandchildren Jamieson Haverkampf, Ivy Haverkampf, Thomas Schomaker, and Abigail Schomaker. Ann Cauble was known for her razor sharp wit, generosity, and her adventurous spirit. She truly was one of a kind, and will be dearly missed. A memorial service and celebration of Ann Cauble's life will be held at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Saturday June 22nd at 11am with a reception to follow. Dear Caroline, Melinda and Ellen,
Forgive if this is a duplicate entry but I don't think my first entry went through. I want you all to know that I am thinking of you. I spent so many happy times at your house in my childhood. I have lots of great memories of your mother! I remember that she taught me how to knit. I wish I had kept it up. She knitted some beautiful things! So many memories flood my mind but it would take pages to write them all down! Just know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Due to a prior commitment, I am so sorry that I will not be able to be at the memorial service. I surely will miss seeing all of you and celebrating your mother's life!
Fondly, Susan Ellis Hayes
