To the Moore Family,
I am very saddened to hear about the loss of your sweet child. Mr. Moore, I didn't know that you had a daughter, but to hear all the wonderful things said about Joya and her spirit, I was not surprised that she touched so many lives the way that she did.
I was in Mrs. Norma Moore's fifth grade class, and I remember how proud she was of me, and I was just a student. So, I know that Joya was the "joy" of her life.
I will continue to lift the family up in prayer. Keep God first, and remember, weeping may endure for a night, but "joy" comes in the morning.

My My My, Being one of the teacher's at Light of The World, I used to call Joya "Joyboo" and she would answer everytime. The way she would hug me and just slam her head into my stomach..I knew it was here. You are continually in my prayers...every night. I love you all and send all my strength your way. You have taught me so much in so little time. IT MAY SEEM SAD AT FIRST, BUT WITH THE MEMORIES WE'VE SHARED, IT WILL ALWAYS SEEM LIKE YESTERDAY"

May the God of Peace strengthen you during this time of sadness and pain. I hope the Bible will comfort you and your family. 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 is a scripture that offers much comfort from the greatest comforter who loves us dearly. May the resurrection hope at Acts 24:15 help you to look forward to the time when you will see your loved one again. My sympathies are with you and your family.

To the Moore Family:Our Prayers and Love to you at this time of Sorrow.
Joya was nothing but a bubbly brown sugar. She was so full of Joy when ever you saw her. I know that she is in Heaven already singing and dancing for you see God needed another Angel to lead the younger baby's and she is that special Angel that he choice. When you define the word: JOY- A strong feeling of great happiness; delight; a state or source of contentment or satisfaction; anything which makes one delighted or happy. That is Joya! You will find the strength you need, but only with God's help. We will continue to keep the family in pray.

I would like to say that I am deeply saddened by your loss even though I did not know Joya I realize that children are indeed a gift from our Heavenly Father. Being the mother of three children myself I have come to realize that our children are our angels and they are only loaned to us they don't belong to us. Joya will truely be missed but God realized that he was missing an angel and he decided that he wanted her home. Stay strong and may your heart be light. You will continue to be in my prayers. And may the Lord continue to keep you and bless you through out eternity.
God Bless you and your family always and forever.

Jervon and Mia, as a member of your Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church family, I want to express my sincere sympathy at the loss of your (and our) little angel. But we know His Word tells us she is NOT a "loss", for she is now with the Father where she'll be the same, sweet little girl as she awaits the arrival of her parents and brothers.
Mia, your "message" today was so inspiring and uplifting. Jervon, your "message" in song was SO YOU!! Joya...(and I) smiled with pride at your strength and spirit. Thank you both and may the Father bless and keep you always!

Mr. and Mrs. Moore,
Words cannot express how much I loved Joya. I rememember when we were at church one day for rehearsal and something and kids my age were not there at the time so I played with Joya, Cliffany, Brandis, & Briona and we had the best time together. But I would really want to say how great a girl Joya was. I would look in the choir stand one day and would see Joya just as happy to be singing with the choir. I would see her dancing to her heart's content. I really loved her, I don't see her dying as final but life everlasting with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God be with you and your family always.

To The Moor Family:
My respects to the family. This is not a day of sadness but a day to rejoice in God's goodness. Joya fullfilled her mission! She was put here for a reason and all though we may not ever understand why God took this angel so soon, we know that everything happens for a reason. Be encouraged by God's grace and love. He shall never put to much on us that we cannot endure. I pray for perfect peace for Mom,Dad and family. I did not know Joya, I just wanted to offer my love and let you know I am standing in the gap along side of thousands.

How are you doing today? I see your wife is doing very fine and that is great!!!! Everyone seems to be taking it very well, but you know I've experienced a passing in my family. I noticed that you all are having your daughter buried in the same place as my brother: Kennedy Memorial Gardens. I will be going to Alcorn State University, because they gave me a full scholarship at the Scholarship Fair. I can be reached at: cell-(678)596-4225.

To Mia and family,
Well, Joya came to my class this lil' shy caterpillar. She came from a christian private school and was a little afraid...She was holding so tightly to your hand, as if she was trying to squeeze some of your courage into her own small body! Ms. Phillips & I did everything we could to make her feel at home. but everyday for about a week one of us would walk her down to Guthrie's office to help us wipe away the tears or whisper a few encouraging words to her. Well, we got through that first week, and a week turned into a month and slowly but surely,Joya got to know us and Joya ,the caterpillar, came out of her shell into Joya ,the butterfly! She made friends and she became this smiley, bouncey outgoing ray of light. You could always count on Joya for an early morning smile or a late afteroon hug. You could see that light she had inside of her alllll the way down the hall. Maya Angelou said "Let nothing dim the light that shines within" Joya will be an inspiration to all who knew her. We will remember her light & we will let nothing, Mia, not even our sorrow, dim our light that shines within!
***Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid

Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. To Mia and family, I pray you all find comfort in knowing that, even in the midst of this storm, God is still in control and blessing you right now. God's thoughts are not our thoughts and his ways just aren't our ways, no matter how hard we try to understand with our carnal minds. Look to the hills from whence cometh your help, for God cares for you. The passing of someone you love seems so great at times, but God wouldn't bring you to it not to bring you through it. Always know that HE will not put more on you than you can bear. Almost nine months ago, God called my mother, Sandra Wansley, to Glory, but I know she's in a better place. She and Joya are with the Saviour and they are praising God to the highest. If we allow God to lead and guide us, we will meet them again. HALLELUJAH!!! God bless you and always be encouraged.

Jervon & Mia, word will not express my feeling in the lost of your precious little Joya. She touched my life in a very special way with her Angelic Spirit. I got so much joy out of seeing both your spirits within her as she sung in the Pastor’s Choir. Joya amazed me the way she praised God as she sung. I know at this very difficult time that you relationship, your faith and strength in God will allow you to move forward and be a witness to others of the Almighty God we serve. I know within my heart that Joya is in the presence or God and He is continuing to take care of her in the way that the two of you did so well. My God comfort and bless you and your entire family.

Mr. Moore and Family on behalf of The Halback Family I want to express my condolences on the lost of your daughter. May 15th which was jamboree was the first time I(Dan Halback,Jr.) met Joya and she was by the pencil sharpner playing with her younger brother while Mr. Moore was still selling jamboree tickets and uniforms (That's always going for the "LOW"!). She was a full bloom rose that God wanted to add to his garden, so just know that she is in a much better place than here on Earth with all the trouble, hardache and pain. Our family will continue to keep your family in our prayers and we also hope for a speedy recovery of Mrs. Moore. We also pray that Mr. Moore comes back to the Marching Blue Thunder with some of the same attitude that he had when school let out. May God Bless you all and continue to trust in the Lord.

As we pass each other in our neighborhood so often, we speak and greet each other with smiles. Your precious daughter always waved during the morning going to school. We thought of you all as a wonderful young family like our selves. Loving and concerned Parents. We will miss her smile and waves but she is with Jesus and now looking upon us from above.May God's grace, mercy and abundant love sustain you through this time of grief. Your Carlilse Family.

We send our regards and extend our prayers to you and your family in this time of grief. We thank God that you shared Joya with us at Light of the World Christian School. She was a great joy to have and lit up the school from the day of her matriculation.
May God continue to lift your hearts, by giving you peace and hope!
Remember Jeremiah 29:11 says,
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

There's nothing like a grandchild,
Especially a little girl;
She wraps your heart with heartstrings,
And captivates your world.
We never knew the joy of having a little girl (having only boys) in our family, but we recieved a small part of this joy from hearing about Joya through her grandmother's love that was shared.
God bless all of you with the wisdom to understand and accept.
We will light a candle for Joya and remember your family in our prayers.

To Jervon & Mia and the boys, although Joya is not here with us physically her spirit still surrounds us all. I've been sitting here trying to find the right words to express my deepest sympathy for your lost but all I can say is just to continue to trust in God!!! On first Sunday the pastor's choir sang Walking in Authority and as Justin and watched the tape he said Mommy look at Javien sister she looks so silly. I said no she doesn't she looks like her daddy and her mommy and she looks so happy. We both just smiled and now I can still see that image of her up in heaven with the other angels singing and smiling and praising God for her new home and her new angel wings. With that being said Joya is doing fine because she's in a better place and she will be smiling down and sending blessings to all of us. If there is anything your family needs please call us. Love and God Bless you all!!!

Dear Jervon, Mia, Jevori,Javien, and all members of this wonderful family,
There are no words to express the grief, shock, and pain we are feeling over the loss of our little angel, Joya. However, it is at times like this that we, as Christians, must rely on His Word and our faith to help us cope and continue.
As a member of the Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church,it hurts to know that a "family member" will now be absent from us, in the body, but there is so much joy in knowing that Joya is present with the Lord and that her sweet, sweet spirit will always be in our hearts.
Love and sincere sympathy,
Cary D. Holt

When I think of Joya, I will always remember that smile…that beautiful smile. While assisting the PMW ushers, I was “paired” with Joya. Working with her was a joy; we became fast allies. Whenever we saw each other, she would give me a hug. I will miss those hugs and that smile. To Jervon and Mia, as well the Moore family, my heart goes out to you; you will be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.
